Finished Sunflower House/QG Start!

At last I have put the final stitches into Blackbird Design's Sunflower House (Loose Feathers #9). It is stitched with the recommended fibers and fabric (R&R 28 ct. Friendship Blue with GAST). I really enjoyed this summer project. I am trying to decide if I should put it away until we can spring for professional framing or if I should look for a suitable cheaper frame... not sure what I'll choose!

But now I shall be able to turn to another, more recent BD design, the Quaker Garden SAL with Karen and friends. I am hoping I can work in a focused way on QG and get it stiched this week. I'm already having fun with the simplicity of design and muted color palate.

Hi Ruth, I just happened upon your blog, and wanted to tell you I love your work! Such stunning finishes! Your adaptation of the Bookshelf is inspired. I might want to steal that one when the time comes...;o)

Your Sunflower House is STUNNING... I'm so glad I have this in my stash, especially after seeing your beautiful finish. :) Your Quaker Garden is already looking lovely too - I loved stitching this design, and was a bit sad when I finished.

Oooh, this is so beautiful!! You do beautiful work, Ruth!

Thank you so much Ruth for your kindness and comments :) I'm glad to be meeting a kindred spirit :) Love the verse in your profile too :)
Congrats on your finish! I noticed that you substituted eyelets for the smyra crosses, I love that. I think it's so cool to be able to see the differences in people's finished works. I made a small change in my Sunflower House by turning the sideways 0 in the year back upright. I don't know why that bothered me, but it did. Looking forward to seeing it framed!

Yippee! You've finished SH! Love the colors in it, but I have a thing for blue with yellow tones. :D

I'm sure you'll have another finish soon with QG. So many bloggers have zipped right through it. Again, I love the color scheme the designer chose!
